In reply to Your Excellency's letter of
25th. ultimo, No. 124/3, I have the honour to inform you that the.
direction and length of the proposel pier are approximately as
shewn in the plan enclosed in my letter No. 297 of 14th. idem.
The pier required is about from 450 to 500
feet long by 12 feet wide, with a small T head.
The Range would run for acout 2,000 yards
from the pier to the Westwari and the Admiralty wouli require
that no vessels should anchor permanently within an area of 100
yards each side of the centre line of fire of the Torpedoes, nor
within 30 yards of the pier.
